Simply the best product to apply to any wood knots, before you start painting with your linseed paint.  Apply Shellac around rebates before glazing - this prevents putty from drying out and also prevents linseed oil from affecting silicon seals on double glazing units.  Also for use as a knotting solution, on woods knots prior to painting with Holkham Linseed PaintS to prevent popping.
